I remember
Carl who 
invited me to his funeral
he was a couple of years older than me
he was bones and skin to me, 
seizures, and cerebral toxoplasmosis 
his CD4=0

He was going home,

I hadn’t expected it.

He planned to buy himself some new clothes,
lift weights to keep his strength up

3 years ago he invited me to his funeral

He was almost dead then
I’m sure he’s long gone…
by now, he must be long gone…
